EVOLUTION AND RELATIVISM

Greetings from Fun City.  In recent posts we have proposed the idea that the human race may well be experiencing the ‘birthpangs’ of a significant step forward in the evolution of our species. But is such a notion remotely tenable given the obvious state of chaos in which we find our world today? What possible evidence could one give in support of the view that humankind is poised for anything but decay and self-destruction at a time when enmity in international relations is at an all-time high, fundamentalist morons of all persuasions are inflicting hatred and death upon ever-increasing numbers of their fellow men, and the world economy is on the verge of total collapse? If we’re using cable news broadcasts to predict the immediate future of Planet Earth, smart money would say we’ll be lucky if we’re still circling the sun in another 15 years. So, what’s with this talk of human evolution at such a dark moment in human history? It all has to do with the possibility of an awakening.

While there is no denying the fact that the political situation in the world is bleak beyond comprehension, we often lose sight of the fact that there are good things happening in other areas of human endeavor. The trick is in nourishing those positive elements into something huge before the politicians succeed in pushing the big red button. The ‘Big Truth’ I’m referring to is the wealth of real intelligence that exists within the cultural underground.  Hard as it is to believe at times, there are actually untold scores of individuals in the world whose thinking and awareness have reached heights that far exceed the samplings presented to us by the cultural models.  We all know such individuals.  The problem? 1. They’re marginalized by the social structure itself.  2. Far too many of them have become apathetic through belief that there is nothing they can do to become agents of meaningful change. Greetings from Fun City.  I’m getting wind of some really weird shit that’s going around out there. FreakNation seems to be getting some very nasty press around the community at large.  Better than no press at all, I suppose. There are some, it seems, who think my talk of a free society means I’m advocating the creation of a race of mutants; an entire society of irresponsible, unhappy, unproductive, non-communicative serial drug and alcohol addicts whose sole idea of life and livelihood is either dealing drugs or larceny, and who are primed to rape and murder at the slightest provocation. It’s being said that if I had my way, America would lapse into uncontrollable anarchy and chaos and would quickly be taken over by the Chinese. Or the Iranians. OK, so I guess you got me. No, seriously folks. Let’s try to clarify things just a wee bit.

To begin with, I suppose it’s natural that people in the post-drug-culture age equate partying with utter failure and fatal addiction. Fair enough. This is the age of rehab and that’s the rhetoric they’ve been buying into for god knows how long now. Problem is, this whole 12-step mind-set causes my most important point with regard to the party lifestyle to be entirely overlooked. Personal life failures and addiction are predominantly the products of a failed social order. People drink and drug themselves into oblivion for lack of anything better to do, so let’s not get too fucking self-righteous here. Addiction of one form or another is a temptation for all of us. The fact that many succumb to it is more a reflection of the paucity of available alternatives than of innate weakness of character. And for those who are tempted to pass judgement on the so called ‘addict,’ you’ll have to justify your own situation in the process. Are YOU happy? Are you living up to YOUR greatest potential? Are you satisfied with the choices available to you? If you answered ‘yes’ you’re in the extreme minority, and this discussion doesn’t apply to you. But don’t get the idea that trudging off to your meaningless job, trading the hours of your life for someone else’s profit is any better choice than staying home getting drunk or stoned. It ain’t. In fact, you just might be a bigger part of the problem than the drunk or the druggie. You’re probably mired far more deeply in the cultural quicksand than your ‘irresponsible’ counterpart. Chew on that one before your ego does too big a number on you. At any rate, the point here is that whether you plug away as a dutiful drone in the work force or party like your plane’s goin’ down, modern America is still in the throes of death and in need of a miracle transfusion. THE CONCEPT OF ‘PLAY’

CULTURAL MODELS 101

Greetings from Fun City.  Life choices are based largely upon existing cultural models. It’s like eating at a restaurant. You order from what’s on the menu, and it’s the rare exception when you order anything that’s not on the menu. And if you’d prefer something that’s not on the menu, it becomes a crap-shoot as to whether or not you’ll get what you want. They’ll either accomodate you…or they won’t. But the attainment of your desire is entirely beyond your control. Your success or failure is dependent upon the structure of the model, in this case, ’stuff they’ve actually got in the kitchen.’ This then, is the cultural ‘model’ for the experience of ‘eating out.’ The same modeling concept applies equally to the slightly more elaborate concept of life choices. The culture in which you are immersed provides you with a convenient menu of options and presents them as the ‘norms’ for the attainment of your purposes in what may well be your one and only life. This urgency is what produces, in humans alone, the phenomenon we call ‘existential angst.’ It’s the knowledge that all we have are our choices in the face of an inevitable death, and to make the wrong ones (in the long-term, anyway) is basically the same thing as pissing our lives away. There are two aspects we deal with in making life choices; one is the ‘what,’ or the specifics that our actions will entail, the other is the ‘how,’ or the ‘basic philosophy’ we choose to adopt regardless of how we handle the specifics. It is in the ‘how’ that all committed hedonists, libertines, radicals, pagans, heathens—whatever handle you choose to self-apply—are joined at the hip. It is in the understanding of the concept of Play.

The concept of Play is fundamental to human development, but is virtually non-existent in the world-view of our day. Modern American culture, defined by the corporate will, the corporate state, and corporate propoganda—all underwritten for the most part by the fundamentalist right—offers up a cultural model that is nothing more than a sham to intelligent individuals. It’s the white-collar conservative sell-out lifestyle that has built an entire nation of neurotic psychopaths who have long ago given up on any consideration of the notion of the ‘meaning of life.’ The cultural model poses the greatest threat to our young people; they always know the truth intuitively, but all too seldom know that they know it. Through the combination of insecurity and the unceasing inculcation of the ‘conformity message,’ most of them will sooner or later fall victim to the lie. By the time they figure out that they had it right in the first place, they’re 45 and will spend the rest of their lives trying to recover what they already knew when they were 17. And what did they know? They knew what it meant to play. To play, is to follow one’s instincts. To play is to follow one’s bliss. To play is to approach life with a determination to make your own choices, not those that are made for you by those who haven’t the slightest understanding of who you are. (continued…)

DOES SATAN CARE ABOUT YOUR POLITICS?

Greetings from Fun City. OK, so by now you all understand that fundamentalism must be eradicated, extirpated, exterminated, extinguished and annihilated if modern culture is to be saved. In other words, we’ve all got to pull together and manifest Satan’s vision for Planet Earth. If you’ve followed Culture Orgy at all, you know that I advocate the removal of the fundamentalist cancer primarily by a progressive overhaul of the system, that is, through relentless activism, education, political action, etc. Basically a numbers game accomplished gradually but steadily by getting all the intelligent people together until we simply outnumber the morons on a meaningful scale. Now I realize that to even suggest the idea of ‘outnumbering the morons’ sounds like a full-on fantasy to many, but let’s take a moment and follow the line of logic here.

A cursory look at the political situation in America can easily engender a sort of knee-jerk perception that the fundamentalist/conservative/straight-ass contingent in America constitutes a massive base, numbers-wise. They are obviously deeply entrenched in our government agencies and when we think about the notion of kicking the fuckers all to the curb, we are often given pause by the thought that there are too many of them to tackle head-on. Well, yes and no. I definitely agree that when we look upon our world every day it seems clear that the idiots outnumber the at-least-relatively-intelligent by an insurmountable margin. But do they really? Intelligent people inevitably feel they are surrounded by nothing but idiots. When we look at our government, we can only hang our heads and wring our hands in embarrassment at the woeful disasters they have brought to bear on America. And all because there are nothing but War Pigs, Assassins, Thieves and Ass Clowns running the show. But are we really so badly outnumbered? The truth is that this whole conception of Conservative American Culture is, in reality, only its ‘public persona.’ It’s the part we see every day because it’s what’s on TV, on the Internet, and in our newspapers. Before the time of television, black and white and glitter-laden, magic movies arose from south of the border. Boys of all ages drawn moth-like to the drop-dead sights of Mexican girls; Seas of swirling hair, dark, radiant eyes, and lips aflame with passion. Young boys who learned their sexual lessons fast, thirsting for the microwave radiation of Lilia Prado. Lilia Prado, so obviously proud of her gorgeous legs. She showed them off again and again, to the delight of all men. We loved her for that. Lilia’s legs. Lilia’s eyes. Lilia’s lips. Her dark sexual power was unique, and if anyone should claim that her like has not been seen again among the world’s beauties, you’d get no argument from me. Greetings from Fun City. 4000 and counting. 4000 American sons and daughters dead at the hands of these War Pigs. How did they do it? How did this coterie of mass-murdering mercenaries acquire the requisite power to have your children killed off in their campaign to stuff the bank accounts of the Bush oil interests and Cheney’s Haliburton? Didn’t take you long to figure that one out, did it? Of course, it was that American Army of Tin Men and Women, (If they only had a BRAIN!!) the Christian Right. That wasn’t much of a stretch, was it? Yep, if you’re looking for the REAL architects of all this destruction, just take a look out your windows at the fundamentalist church down the street. There, you’ll find the enablers—even the employers, in some cases—of the War Pigs. They don’t care that you’ve lost your children. They only want to make sure that the tight-rope tensions in the Middle East escalate into full scale war as soon as possible. You know, because Armaggedon must come so all the Jews can be massacred, so that Jesus can come floating down out of a cloud riding on a….yep…a FLYING HORSE!? That’s why your children are dying. So that these morons might one day catch a glimpse of a FLYING HORSE! Well, actually, they wouldn’t see the flying horse because they will already have been snatched out of their Hummers on the freeway and lifted bodily (floating through the air with the greatest of ease) upward into Heaven. (I wonder if that’s farther than Pluto. As far as Alpha Centauri? Hmmm.) THEN, Jesus comes on the flying horse to slaughter the Jews. Don’t laugh. It’s too sick to laugh at. Besides, you know it’s true. And if you don’t believe it, simply ask a fundamentalist.

4000 dead. The figure boggles the mind. Just a little quickie. An in-and-outer to nab Sadaam and settle the old score with the Evil Empire of Bushdom. Just a harmless little diversion to grab up some loose oil that the family could always use. 4000 dead. Say it! 4000 DEAD. Soldiers interviewed today were quoted as saying the numbers were ‘too hard to grasp.’ Indeed they are. Hey, Dick Cheney! America’s sons and daughters are being slaughtered in the name of Haliburton. Two-thirds of Americans say they think you’re fulla shit now! “So?” That was your reply. Saw it m’self on the Tee-Vee. “So?” Oh yeah, and there was that Cheshire grin, the smirk of the seasoned extortionist thug, the smug, barely-restrained cackle of the War Pig. We all saw it. We saw that it doesn’t mean shit to a sub-human slime-ball like you. And yet, there they are. There they remain; The fundamentalist faction that brought the world to the brink of a chaos no brand of diplomacy may ever be able to unravel. Nothing has changed. If they could vote Bush/Cheney again, they would! Some of them have lost loved ones as well. “So?” What do they care? Just more lost souls in a Fool’s Paradise. What does it matter? Jeezus is coming soon! So come on, Georgie! Come on, Dickie! Blow up the planet before the Democrats come and ruin everything! Sad to say, but we’ve still got 9 months in 2008. It could easily happen. All we can hope now is that Satan exacts his revenge upon you all. May your coming years be long and filled with infinite sorrow and unspeakable agony before The Reaper comes to call.

THE NEW REVOLUTION IS AT HAND

Greetings from Fun City. Time for a little straight talk about the New Revolution. Dig this, for real. There has been no revolution in America since before the birth of Disco. That revolution got into people’s heads. More importantly, it got into their hearts. Our culture began to change for the better very quickly. A mass Culture Orgy was born and it spread like a California wildfire. But the Fundamentalists were not about to sit idly on their hands and watch the human race evolve toward its’ Utopian ideal at such a rapid pace. They began to organize, stockpiling money they would throw at politicians in order to re-establish the McCarthy-ist Fascism of the ’50’s. They would get back to what they knew best, legislating morality, and putting the masses off the chase for progress by drowning them in the usual diversions; poverty, overwork, amusement, and substance abuse. Amazingly to some, their biggest fear was not the drug culture, not long hair, not free speech, not even rock ‘n’ roll. Their intolerable fear, that which absolutely had to be dealt with, was Sex. And so, they dealt with it.

Even the most brain-dead among straight-ass fundamentalist fucks are smart enough to know that you can’t control large segments of the populace if those people are roaming the planet in a state of sexual Nirvana. Sexual freedoms keep the people young, vital, interested in life, and most of all, happy. This kind of crowd is sexually immunized against right-wing mind-pollution, and there was certainly no serious thought among conservatives that it would be an easy task to turn back the progressive tide. No indeed, Mochambo. A movement with the power of the sexual revolution, combined with the other social advances of the counter culture, would not be taken down overnight. But the bastards got to work and stayed at work. They suffered through the disgrace of the 70’s; Nixon’s resignation, the non-years of Gerald Ford, and then four years of Jimmy Carter. All the while they continued to organize, built reserves, moved crooks and murderers like Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Karl Rove up the sleaze-ball, influence-peddling, election-rigging ladder, and prepared to reclaim their territory. They elected Reagan, and that was it for progressive culture. Now,almost 30 years later, it is our turn to reclaim America, and in so doing we must never underestimate the level of patience and commitment that may be summoned by our enemy. (continued…)

SEX: THE ULTIMATE RELIGION

SEX AS TRANSCENDENT RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE.

Greetings from Fun City. The discussion of Sex and Spirituality must begin with a brief overview of the problem. In simple terms it can be illustrated by this photo of our lovely bikini model. Fundamentalists are still drilling it into their children (and anyone else who’ll listen) that imagery such as this is depraved, salacious, and a threat to the eternal welfare of their souls. Strong talk considering the fact that the image is light years from anything remotely pornographic. In fact, it is not even suggestive of anything more than an enjoyable day at the beach and getting one’s fresh fruit fetish on. (OK, and maybe an intimate dinner, a few drinks, and getting laid a little bit later) Of course, for a group of throwbacks that don’t allow their daughters to wear dresses above the ankles or to attend school dances, or school at all for that matter, lest they be exposed to something sexy or historically accurate, well, it’s not exactly revelation that they have not risen to the knowledge that Sex is the Ultimate Religion. How is this still going on, you ask? This is 2008, for Chrissakes. How can our culture ever hope to rise to an understanding of the spiritual nature of Sex when they still can’t get past girls in bikinis? Fear of Sex. Jeezus. It’s so hard to get my brain around the concept. I know it shouldn’t be. Fundamentalist thinking is always born out of fear, superstition, and a refusal to address reality. But Reality (Capital ‘R’) dictates exactly the opposite. For thinking beings who have evolved beyond this primitive mindset, the understanding that Sex is Absolute Transcendence, in the highest spiritual sense, is self-evident. Progressive people with their minds attuned to higher pursuits are blessed with a healthy and natural attitude toward Sex and experimentation which frees them emotionally and spiritually and does much to enhance their abilities to achieve their greatest human potential. Fear of Sex as practiced by Fundamentalists leads to the opposite; emotional repression and sexual frustration until eventually the lid blows, resulting in sexual dysfunction, or worse, psychosis and pathological behavior. THE TRUE DOMINATRIX: HARD-WIRED FOR CONTROL, OR POSSESSED BY SATAN?

Greetings from Fun City.  Today’s query: Is the dominatrix truly The Devil’s Daughter? Of all sexual archetypes, she is always the one considered to be corrupted beyond redemption. The Evil within her is palpable as she unleashes her fury and exacts her punishment on her defenseless subject. But is it really the Devil who pulls her waking strings, or is it something more fundamental and genetic, something hard-wired into the maleficence of her indomitable psyche? First of all, let us be clear that we are here considering only the true dominant, that is, the woman whose appetite for cruelty is something real, something that rises up within her, driving her to inevitable contact with the men upon whom she will enact her inner impulses of violence and aggression. For her, this is not a game. It is her pathway to sexual fulfillment, and as such, it is utterly serious.

The true dominant lives on a plane entirely separate from that of the mere professional.  The professional has found herself a livelihood by providing men with the fantasies of THEIR choosing and charging them handsomely for the privilege. She is sympathetic to the desires of her ’slaves’ and seeks to create that fantasy, rather than her own. And while she must certainly have some form of passion for domination in order to deal with the rigors and expenses of setting up her business, the fact remains that she would engage in very little real world domination if there were no money to be made.  Some so-called ‘lifestyle’ doms have more after-hours connection to their work than the strict professional, many even styling their furnishings and clothes around the Fetish theme.  But for the majority of pro doms, the persona’s day is over when the dungeon door closes.  The corset comes off at the end of the session, and the ‘dom’ comes off as well.  Our professional then punches the time clock and returns happily to the world of ordinary mortals.
